HTML5 <embed> Tag

The HTML <embed> tag is used to represent an integration point for an external application or interactive content (in other words, a plug-in).

No content is permitted inside this element. It is a void or empty element. This element must have a start tag and must not have an end tag. The parent of the <embed> tag can be any element that accepts embedded content.

The following style is applied to this element by default:

embed:focus {
  outline: none;
}

Attributes

height

This attribute is used to specify the displayed height of the resource, in CSS pixels.

src

This attribute is used to specify the URL of the resource being embedded.

type

This This attribute is used to specify the MIME type to use to select the plug-in to instantiate.

width

This attribute is used to specify the displayed width of the resource, in CSS pixels.
